Pablo Vincente, like many others, includes a link to his own web site - Digital Pixels - alongside the images he posts. However he recently received an email from Flickr asking him to remove the link and stating that "...Flickr accounts are for personal use and if selling products/yourself through your photostream [it] could cause account termination." It seems that as part of the deal with Getty to set up a collection of royalty free, rights ready and rights managed photographs they may be uncomfortable about others doing anything that could potentially reduce their revenue stream. In his article Jim points out that if you ask the developers, they will say the photos shouldn't have been posted on a public site if you don't want them used. The article is definitely worth a read as it raises the issue far better than I could and is very thought provoking. I've already heard of people quitting Flickr because of this so check out the article at the link below. Amateur Photographer is reporting that more than a third of MPs have now backed Austin Mitchell's parliamentary petition on the right to take pictures in public places unchallenged by officials, winning cross-party support from 231 of the 646 elected members.

I've been made aware of an issue with the comments form on my site. Apparently, unless you actually clicked the "comment anonymously" link it wasn't showing the captcha form and so when you submitted a comment you got an error....

Apparently, unless you actually clicked the "comment anonymously" link it wasn't showing the captcha form and so when you submitted a comment you got an error. Well for now I've disabled the captcha at least for the short term and hopefully all you people out there who I know are dying to leave comments can now do so. It will probably result in my getting a load more rougue messages however once I'm back from my travels I'll see if I can fix it properly. Thanks Nick
